Michael Sale is a Composer/Producer from Sydney, Australia.
His compulsive addiction to music led him to spend his formulative years writing, recording and touring with a variety of bands Initially exploring the Rock and Pop realms of song writing before expanding into Classical, Jazz and acousmatic music allowing him to delve into and experiment with genres while gaining first hand knowledge of the collaborative process.
He earned his Bachelor of Music majoring in composition and production through the Australian Institute of Music, the skills learnt and his passion for songwriting and audio engineering have culminated in projects with several of Australia’s emerging boutique labels including Lesstalk Records, Art As Catharsis, Y202, Dream Damage, Sad Grrrls Club and FeralMedia. As well as work for Short Films and Interactive Media. Including the ICC Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014 theme and commercial work for Fox Sports and McDonalds.
He has studied and interned with several prominent composers including Daniel Blinkhorn, Drew Crawford, Greg White and Phillip Johnston
His production work has been shortlisted for the Australia Music Prize.
His versatility and constantly evolving approach has earned him a reputation for distinctive, and what many artists consider to be their most personal work
